This isn't just another jukebox musical. It's the gold standard for what a jukebox musical can be. Alicia Keys' catalog is woven into the story so seamlessly that the songs never feel forced or included simply because they're recognizable. Every single number feels earned. Songs I've listened to for years suddenly carried entirely new meaning because of the story surrounding them. That's incredibly difficult to accomplish, yet Hell's Kitchen makes it feel effortless. I've rarely seen music integrated into a Broadway production this naturally.
